What a fun discovery! Pulled in and just fell in love with the funky decor and the amazing aromas coming from the kitchen! We ordered Chili Cheese Dip Sticks (fries) to share and a German Sausage and a Chicago Brat. The fries were amazing - tasty chili, cheese and fresh onion topping crispy fries. Then the dogs - the German Sausage came dressed with grainy mustard, kraut, jalapeños - amazing! The Chicago was perfect right down to the neon relish and little peppers. The portions are huge - we did finish the fries, but each brought home half of our dogs. Friendly staff and customers!!

Now this place is a real Cinderella story... It sure isn't much to look at, and you could very easily pull up to it, take a look, and turn around immediately. As with just about any experience... loving this place or hating it will depend largely on what you value in a culinary adventure. I have had a few items here, but my favorite would have to be the Lancaster. It is so damned delicious! It's definitely an aptly named joint, seeing what it's attached to. There is most certainly nothing fancy about this place. If what you're after is a quirky little eatery that offers big, delicious food, at very reasonable prices... stop in and try something from the menu. I love this place. Especially in the summer months.

Average. Had bacon cheeseburger. Good, big, but average. French fries frozen crinkle cut, blah.

Got a craving for some bad for you greasy food? This place will fix that! Super-huge burgers that you probably can't eat on your own. Everything was good and it didn't take too long for them to make it, even though it was a busy Friday night. I only knocked off a star because the beer was pretty much room temp. Oh and please turn that strobe light off, it is soo annoying. There is a table right in front of it so people driving by won't see it anyway. When it is dark enough to see you'd be closed...

Most folks driving Hwy 99 between Eugene and Corvallis take HWY99 W from Junction City, not realizing they are missing a prime opportunity to experience some of the best burgers and hotdogs in the Valley if they would instead take HWY99 E from Junction City (to Harrisburg). Junkyard is an unexpected delight. If you are looking for stunning hotdogs and hamburgers, this place is worth the drive. You won't be sorry you stopped--but don't attempt to take anything to go. You'll need both hands to savor whatever you order! I've enjoyed the Lancaster among other things, as well as the amazing bacon cheese burger. Super hearty portions, if you are a light eater, be sure to order something to split. The restaurant is cozy and small, with quirky decor, and during the summer months they roll up the doors to let air through. For those who eat a burger or dog at the Junkyard, I then recommend you continue north on HWY99 E through Harrisburg, and at the junction of Peoria Road--take that left to get on Peoria Road! If you drive a few more miles north, on the right side, you'll come across a Mennonite Bakery that always has cookies, cinnamon rolls and breads that are home baked and for sale. Peoria Road continues north to end just outside of Corvallis, making this a pleasant alternative to HWY99W. Between the Junkyard and the Mennonite Bakery, how can you go wrong?

We had the polish dog with sauerkraut and neon relish and grainy yummy mustard. One other in our group had the quarter pound hotdog... Soooo good! I want to try the burgers next. Kind of spendy, but OH do good! For the food price is fair.,, definitely will return.

Funky cool decor, awesome dogs and brats, boneyard IPA on tap. Need I say more?! Delicious! Only one small problem: located on low IQ Junction City. (Haha! I kid, I kid!)

The dogs are great! Quite a variety and very fresh ingredients. The service is a little slow but it's not fast food and worth the wait. I had the Chicago dog which was great. My boyfriend had the bratwurst and my daughter had the chili dog. no complaints about any of it. Great place to fill you up for lunch.

Great burgers and brats. Go ahead and skip the fries. Verrrry busy and cramped. Aye outside which was nice but had to fight the line to grab my food from the counter when it was ready. Bathroom wasn't great but not the worst.

I ride my m/c past this place often. I've stopped several times, and always enjoyed it. Had a big cheeseburger & fries the last time, standard fare. But, it was really, really good. The bun was basted and toasted on the grill, and that add's so much flavor. The serving size was large, service good, tastes were great. Downside, is the long stroll to the toilet, waaaay out back and around over there.... but, hey--- it's basically a food-cart that has a dining area added on, so what's to be expected. Good roadside food.

So, I was in Junction City and was hungry so my husband and I decided to give this a try. My burger was not bad, just really salty between the blue cheese and bacon. Those chips, what the what? It was a raw day and I froze to death in there, no heat and too small to get away from the door. Food took a long time, we got there after a big table of workers. $31 for two people for burgers, never again.

Junkyard burgers were, interesting. The 3 stars go to the flavor they are able to give their burgers, aside from this the experience was underwhelming. The space is very busy with decorations, and getting started can be confusing as there is no direction on how to order. Our experience was similar to other people, most everyone was waiting a while for no apparent reason. The burgers were great, a lot of developed flavors, fresh ingredients and I even appreciate the messiness. One thing not fitting were the potato chips, maybe a different style of potato chip or options would work better.

My kid lives in Cheshire and kept on me about going to this amazing hole-in-the-wall place. Drove past it a few times and was not impressed with its appearance. I'm glad she was persistent because this is simply a place everyone who likes hotdogs should go. The food is fantastic. The attitude projected by the counter staff only adds to the overall experience. My daughter now tells me they have actually improved the menu. Can't wait to try it in July. You people who live near are so LUCKY!

Just got our refund and left! Terrible service! Went in, only two other customers inside, and ordered two regular burgers. Took a seat and waited. The family behind us ordered and got their food ten minutes later. Thought that was weird so we waited another ten minutes. More people started coming in and it was impossible to ask what was going on because of size of the shop. No employees in sight to bus tables etc. Finally got to the window again (another 10 minutes) and was told our order was misplaced. So in one half an hour the only food they put out were hot dogs/fries to the family mention above?? Don't know what goes on with the drive through- do they get priority? And I would give them $$ for their prices.

OMG.... OMG.... OMG was coming from every table at this roadside gem in small town USA. This place is cool and I had fast service with a smile. Can you say "Food Coma!" cause that is what I was in, about halfway through the big German Sausage dog I ordered that was slathered with their own spicy stone ground mustard, dill pickle relish and sauerkraut This place is serious about their dogs and burgers, they even have specially made 3 sided buns for the extremely large 1/4 pound brats, sausages and franks they serve. Junkyard was featured on Triple D and their Guy Fieri signature burger "Triple D Big Block" would make an easy meal for several with a full pound of beef on a big bun topped with 4x cheese, double bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and mayo. For the pizza lovers out there, there's a pizza complete with a crust of grilled cheese. Yum! The food was served hot and was high quality. Handmade burgers and specially made high quality sausages and franks. Adult beverages and non adult as well. Oh and there is a menu for the kiddos. This place is located on 99E approximately 12 miles outside of Eugene.....and people it's worth the drive. Drop the top and take a relaxing drive in the country. There's plenty of parking too. 2015-42

I really love the atmosphere, nice staff, and it was fun driving through the country a bit. Love their beer choices. But unfortunately the bratwurst my girlfriend and i shared was lacking any flavor whatsoever. We shall return however, to try the junkyard burger!

Wow, just like advertised, a shed with a small trailer attached for a kitchen/drive thru. Great staff that were very helpful. The only, and I mean only downfall, is the burger shown on DDD is a special $24 monster. Albeit, the smaller version (Big Block)was fantastic and was huge. I like the idea of chips on the side, a change from always having fries. The beef was local and fresh and do were the buns. Wouldn't doubt the cheese and produce being all local. Have them put a jalapeño cheese skirt on it for you, it's worth it! Ask for the cheese crust pizza because it's not on the menu. Unbelievable taste with the pesto, cheeses and pineapple. We'll be back every year when we get back in the area. And like Guy says, you'll need 2 heart paddles!

Once the hype of being on Drive-ins, Diners & Dives is over, you will probably be able to get your food in a timely manner. Please don't tell me 20 minutes and take 70 minutes. We ordered burgers and watched other diners after us get their burgers first. Really disorganized. The burgers were good, the side of "chips", not good. Worth the wait? No. Worth the price? No.

  • Elizabeth S.

My husband got the Chicago dog and I got the chili cheese dog. Both were delicious! We also shared a half order of fries. They came out hot and were crispy. Very tasty! The portions were huge and the atmosphere was so unique. If we lived close by we would definitely be coming back!

We decided to give this place a try after a nice day of swimming. We were a little confused on the ordering end of things since we had not been here before. After no acknowledgment from the person behind the counter I picked up a menu and took it over to the table to decide what we all wanted. I went with a blue cheese burger. It was very large and pretty good but it was a soggy mess before I had a chance to eat it all. My boyfriend had the pizza dog which he said was really good. Our kids had a basic dog on a stick and a cheeseburger. Meals came to a little over 30. I think we will probly eat here again at some point. The decor is really nice and they have some good beers.

Worth the drive from Eugene. Will go back soon. You eat in what was once a garage so bring a coat.

Great Food at Good Prices! One of my favorite lunch spots...my only issue with JYD's is they aren't open enough for when I need an excellent dog fix!

We always drive the back way to Eugene and passed this place probably close to twenty times before I finally looked it up. Only found about three reviews but they were all great so we finally stopped by! They make their own buns which are amazing. Portions are huge. It is our MUST stop now anytime we are within 50 miles! I reccommend The Pesto. Soooo goood. Really anything is great. It started out as a small food truck, but has been remodeled into a cute walk up restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are great, food is consistent and delicious. We have never been disapointed!

I watched diners drive ins and dives when he was at Junkyard dogs and wanted to try the big block burger because of what I saw and Guy asked them if this was how they served this burger to the public and he said yes.so I really wanted to try it, so I did and it was a good price at 14 dollars until I went to eat it. it was missing the egg, the bacon, the fried cheese skirt and more so as far as I was concerned it was false advertising. I will never go there again and I only live 3 miles from the restaurant, I don't like dishonest people. spent money I wish I never would have, it was a waist, I could have eaten at D.Q. for less money for the same burger.

Delicious food for the price! Also friendly staff and awesome, old timey feel to the place

Did the 1/4 pound dog plain for lunch when I was on the run in the area. Really good! The bun was or seemed artisan or darn close and the meat was REALLY good, thus, probably not good for you! Hey, it was worth it! When in the area, give them a try.

I had been talking with my girlfriend about feeling guilty about not ever stopping by here. I love to support local business but for some reason it always slipped my mind on the drive past. Today she had the brilliant idea of stopping by on her way to work, it might have been her best food decision yet! She had the "Lancaster" it was loaded down with all kind of yummy things... I don't remember them all but the bacon was my favorite topping by far! I ordered one with just ketchup, spicy mustard and onions. It was great, but left me wanting a "Lancaster". The atmosphere is somewhat strange, you walk inside a graveled garage to find the window you order at as well as the seating area. They had a propane heater running so it was fairly warm in there. It was clean and the staff was friendly. If you're ever driving by and hungry it is definitely worth the stop!

If you are craving a wonderful juicy hamburger, you will not be disappointed in this place. The owners are friendly, the place is small but very clean, and the service is fast! We raise our own beef, and the hamburger at this place is equal to our organic grass fed beef! Highly recommend you try this place.

Been going to the junkyard dog for years. Best fries , best real Coney- Island hot dogs on the west coast. Huge burgers that feed two so bring your appetite. Their new building with lots of parking is a big hit. Even fast service at the drive up Window. Last but not least the price of the food is cheap for what you get. Oh ya, they got a mac and cheese to die for. ..John Peters Junction city Oregon.

Delicious dogs in a fun setting. First time here; would've given them 5 stars except the grill gal wasn't overly friendly. I had Wisconsin dog with extra cheese. My God, what a dog! The bun was so good and held up to the gooey goodness. Can't beat the 1/4# all beef dog either. Come and get 'em.

Outstandingly good food and very creative decorating. Hands down the best burger I've ever had. If you're looking for a burger, this is THE place. Try the Junkyard Extreme Burger; you won't regret it.

Absolutely awesome hotdogs! However, if you order a polish dog, plan to share with someone else 'cuz it's huge. Onions & sauerkraut: mmmm! We take ours to a little churchyard nearby & eat in the shade. This is primarily a drive-thru place right on Hwy 99.

I have been wanting to try out Junkyard Dog for a long time now and I am sure glad I did! I don't eat burgers let alone dogs very often but if you are one who does this is the place for you! The decor alone is pretty cool. Some of the tables are held up by painted car transmissions, and the booths are car seats. Our large fry was served in a dog dish ( with parchment paper of course) I thought that was a cool touch. The extreme burger, now this burger looked like a pizza! It was so gooood! It had pepperoni, jalapeño peppers, melted cheese that was crusted just like a pizza or grilled cheese. I normally would not have gone for a burger like this but my son ordered it and I asked for a bite and I could not stop. I since have gone back and ordered my own. I feel like this is a place that you would see Adam Richman, or Guy Fieri traveling to. It's definitely worth the drive through Junction City to eat at this place. Plus you get to enjoy the wonderful smell of the country air. When I was there last I could smell the mint fields. It was refreshing. It's going to be one of my top eats for sure. Thank you Junkyard Dog! Obviously since writing my review DDD has been out here which I thought was cool. I wrote in, as I am sure a lot of others did to the show. I was so happy to see they came out to one of my favorite burger spots.

A diamond in the rough... If you're hungry and passing through Harrisburg or Junction City, this dog stand is definitely worth the stop. Hot dogs are 1/4 lb beef dogs on delicious and soft fresh buns. They have a little covered eating area, but it seemed pretty cold on the day we passed through, so we went with the drive-thru option. After commuting right by this establishment a number of times, I'm glad we finally went by while hungry. Very friendly service, and they have a good variety of topping combinations to choose from. The spicy Louisiana dog seemed right up my alley, and my kraut-loving companion chose the Kansas City dog. Both were excellent.

I've driven by Junkyard Dog many times and never stopped before. I'm not a big hot dog eater, but was hungry and got one. OMG, this was by far the BEST hot dog I've ever had! Big and meaty and juicy. I got the chicago dog. The buns are either homemade or bought from a local bakery. Sturdy enough to hold all those wonderful toppings. I will certainly be back many times. Can't wait to try the other varieties. Yummmmm. Do yourself a favor and go there!

  • Virgil B.

Big, Big, Big Burger! The only burger on the menu. I think the bin is about 8 inches across! Sautéed onions and fried cheese make this burger a standout. The down side is that the beef tasted bland, typical mass produced. If they went with locally produced higher quality beef, this would be a five star rating. Also, if you don't know about this place, most people would look at it and keep driving. The hotdogs being served up looked outstanding, so that will be next.

A day trip to the Junction City area led us to desire a late lunch. This place draws surprisingly great reviews, and (they won't let you forget) it was featured on an episode of Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. Guy Fieri is odious on every level, and his own restaurants are laughably bad, so his stamp of approval carries no weight with this correspondent. Never let it be said that DLW and I won't make a sacrifice in pursuit of culinary completeness. This place definitely qualifies as a dive. It sits on Highway 99 about a mile north of Junction City proper, surrounded by farmland and not much else. There was a rooster crowing as we arrived. Despite the wide open spaces around it, it is a hole-in-the-wall perched close to the road with exactly three parking spots in front, one for handicapped. They play up the DDD connection, as you would expect (free national advertising), so Guy's mug is unavoidable. The low-rent look inside is in keeping with the outside, with second-hand furniture including car seats used, and funny signs in abundance. Only 20 seats available, plus a few outside, which is also where the bathroom is. The menu is pure roadside, predominately burgers and sausages. DLW ordered up a Chicago dog, but kept getting blocked in her beverage choice. They were out of white wine and a couple of beer selections, so she took a red wine. I chose the standard burger and fries. All beverages are poured at the counter, and there is no fountain. I had to fetch ice from the machine next to the window, then let the server pour iced tea from a bottle. Soda is in cans, and most beers are bottled, with one on tap. Chicago dogs are DLW's favorite variety, and this was dragged through the garden, as the Chicagoans say. It was also about twice the size of a regular hot dog, and while she liked it, she also thought it was just too big, and she felt overstuffed after finishing it. My burger was the size of a hubcap, and it came with nice fresh toppings and a generous touch of mayo. Mustard and ketchup were on the tables, but this was wet enough without them, and it was darn good. Fries were crinkle-cut frozen variety, and not very interesting. It was worth a trip just to experience this place, but I wouldn't make a special effort to do it again. Maybe its notoriety will let them expand, or at least get a proper bathroom.

Good burgers, they don't do the pizza on weekends we were told, but AMAZINGLY one appeared for another customer. VERY SLOW SERVICE, took us over 45 minutes to get our orders and it wasn't very busy. Absolutely no parking, drive through window is made for monster trucks. No place to wait for the food, you just have to stand there. About 30 minutes into my wait, a chair opened up and I sat down.

We went to eat here for 2 reasons, our household LOVES burgers and to search out the best of the best....and because it was on DDD, which we love to watch! They did not fail to disappoint, the food was tasty and a big portion. I had the Polish Sausage and it was so flavorful! I am not a huge fan of kraut or mustard but it truly made the meal. I enjoyed the home made chips as an alternative to fries. Others in my party had burgers and loved them!
